About Me

Education & Performance

Cynthia began studying the violin at age 12.  By high school, she was performing in school and youth orchestras, and competitive recitals.   She received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Southern California, where she studied with world-renowned violinist Eudice Shapiro and violist Milton Thomas.  In 2011, she earned a Masters Degree in Viola Performance from Colorado State University, and was a recent tenured member of the  Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra.

She is currently focused on teaching, music arranging, and learning to farm.

Cynthia has studied and performed at the Music Academy of the West, the Fountainbleau School of Fine Arts, in France, the Banff School of Fine Arts in Canada, and Orvieto Musica in Italy.

In 1997, she founded The Camelot Strings, a group of outstanding chamber musicians, after co-directing The Royal Strings for seven years. Camelot Strings soon became the leading performance ensemble in San Diego, performing for over 100 engagements, including weddings, receptions, and corporate events each year.

Among her many orchestra credits, Cynthia is a past member of the San Diego Chamber Orchestra and has performed with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra.  While in Colorado she was a member of Fort Collins Symphony and the Larimer Chorale Orchestra and also played with the Greeley Philharmonic and Cheyenne Symphony.  She also maintained a busy schedule teaching violin, viola, and piano.

Cynthia has a great flair for solo and small ensemble performance, and enjoys playing in church settings and for the elderly.  Her love of music is reflected in the skills and appreciation of music she imparts to her students, whether they are just beginning their musical journey, or advancing students with years of prior study.
